McKay’s Chattanooga Book Haul

We went to visit our friends that live near Chattanooga last weekend. On the way home, I had to stop by Mckay’s. It’s one of my favorite used bookstores. It is absolutely massive. I wasn’t hunting anything in particular, but it was fun to browse the shelves. I left the store with three books that I just had to have.

Red Rising

I’m not usually a sci-fi fan, but I have noticed Red Rising everywhere. I have heard so many great things about it. I also had a friend that told me it was a great place to start if I wanted to test out the sci-fi genre. I hope to squeeze it in this month because I’m anxious to read it.

Pet Sematary

Pet Sematary is a classic of King’s. I knew I wanted to add it to my collection and I loved this cover. I’m not sure when I will get around to reading it, but now it’s always an option. I’m hesitant because animal deaths make me sad, but one day I’m going to bite the bullet and pick it up.

Dolores Claiborne

Another King classic to add to my collection. It was $3.00 and I couldn’t pass it up. I haven’t heard as much about Dolores Claiborne, but King mentioned it a bunch in Stephen King: On Writing. It made me want to pick it up. Also, this edition is stunning. It has beautiful artwork inside, and I just love it.

Barnes and Noble

After leaving McKay’s, we went to Cheesecake Factory near the Hamilton Place Mall. I had the Riesling Chicken and the Reese’s Cheesecake. I decided I needed some exercise after that heavy meal, so we went to the mall to walk around. Let me just say that their Barnes and Noble is epic. I always end up there. And of course, I made a small purchase.

Skyward

I guess I’m jumping head first into the sci-fi genre. I have always wanted to read Brandon Sanderson, so I decided I would give Skyward a try. I’ve heard people rave about this for years. Plus, it’s gorgeous.

Agate BookEnds

My shelves are finally organized, but I needed some bookends in a couple of places. These agate bookends were 50% off, so I grabbed them immediately. They are absolutely stunning.

So that wraps up my McKay’s and Barnes and Noble haul. Have you read any of the books I purchased? Have you ever been to McKay’s?
