It’s been a minute since I’ve talked about the new authors that I’ve been reading. Honestly, it’s been a minute since I’ve read many new authors. Brandon Sanderson has had me in a vice grip. But there are a few authors that caught my attention this year and I just wanted to talk about a few of them.
Maya Angelou
I read a few of her poems in college but I didn’t take the time to properly appreciate them. But earlier this year, I listened I Know Why a Caged Bird Sings on audiobook and I was obsessed. Her humor and poetic writing absolutely captivates me. I can’t wait to dive further into her work.
Rebecca Yarros
Rebecca Yarros is still very new to me. I just read Fourth Wing a few months ago and I’m only a few chapters into Iron Flame. But something about her writing style feels nostalgic to me. It reminds me of all of the fun that I had when I first discovered the romantasy genre.
Ronald Malfi
And the last new to me author that comes to mind is Ronald Malfi. I’ve only read a few things by him, but I really think I will enjoy the rest of his work. He captures the horror genre perfectly.
