DNF Diaries: The Grace of Kings

I promise I didn’t dnf all of these at one time. But apparently, I have been picky this year. Let’s talk about why I dnfed The Grace of Kings.

Synopsis

Wily, charming Kuni Garu, a bandit, and stern, fearless Mata Zyndu, the son of a deposed duke, seem like polar opposites. Yet, in the uprising against the emperor, the two quickly become the best of friends. Once the emperor has been overthrown, however, they each find themselves the leader of separate factions

My Thoughts

Honestly, The Grace of Kings seems like a book I would love. I think it’s a case of trying to read the wrong thing at the wrong time. At the time I gave this a shot I wanted something I could really connect with emotionally and that’s not what this book is. The writing style is far removed from the character, so it didn’t give me that character connection that I was looking for,

Will I Try Again?

I probably will try this one when I want something less character driven.
