The Summer Bucket List Book Tag

It’s time to start making summer plans, and since last year didn’t work out I plan to do all the summer things. So today I wanted to do The Summer Bucket List Book Tag. It was created by Read By Tiffany and it looks like so much fun. So let’s get to it!

Hit the Beach: A book Set by the water

Where the Crawdads Sing|Delia Owens

Where the Crawdads Sing is the first thing that came to mind. It is a beautiful story that follows a child that grew up in the marshes of North Carolina. The writing really transports you to that place. You can almost smell the briny water. I absolutely can’t recommend this enough, especially if you’re a nature lover.

Watch Fireworks: A Book That Had a Fiery Romance

A Court of Silver Flames|Sarah J. Maas

I can’t imagine a more fiery romance than the romance in A Court of Silver Flames. There’s so much tension and energy in the beginning. It’s almost hate to love, but not quite. It’s perfect.

Go For a roadtrip: A book that involves a journey

1969|Sea Gudinski

1969: A Brief and Beautiful Trip Back has one of the best road trip scenes ever. Our main character is transported back to 1969. She makes friends there and they all take a road trip in a Volkswagen Bus to experience Woodstock. It was epic.

Camp Under the Stars: A Book that left you starstruck

Nevernight|Jay Kristoff

Nevernight took me a hot minute to get into, but once I did I was hooked. I absolutely loved this series. Plus, I’m now enamored with Jay Kristoff. His imagination impressed me.

Marathon Some Movies: A Book you couldn’t put down

Haunting of Ashburn House|Darcy Coates

Is Haunting of Ashburn House a masterpiece? No. Buttttt it was exactly what I was looking for in a haunted house story. It was fast-paced, addictive, and creepy. I devoured this on a car ride home from vacation. It was so, so good.

Go out for ice cream: A book with a sweet romance

House of Earth and Blood|Sarah J. Maas

Once you get passed the crusty, tough romance in House of Earth and Blood it turns really sweet. The characters took care of each other and I need more.

Picnic in the Park: A Book that was a breath of fresh air

The Lost Apothecary|Sarah Penner

The Lost Apothecary helped pull me out of a reading slump. It was so creative and interesting. It truly was a breath of fresh air.

Go for a hike: A Character who conquered an obstacle

Skyward|Brandon Sanderson

In Skyward, all Spensa wants to do is to be a pilot, but the flight school is skeptical of her due to her father’s past. Spensa has to overcome the flight schools doubts to prove that she has what it takes.

Grill some bbq: A book featuring delicious food

Kingdom of the Wicked is set in a restaurant in Sicily. This book will make you HUNGRY. There are so many dishes mentioned. They talked about shrimp scampi so much it made me want to recreate it myself. Check out that post here.

watch the sunrise: A book that inspired you

Stephen King: On Writing was truly inspirational. He told his story in a way that made it seem attainable. It made me want to write award winning novels, and I don’t even consider myself a writer, hahaha.

So that is The Summer Bucket List Book Tag. If you want to play along, I tag you!
