Book Chat: Where I’ve Been

book chat

Hey, guys. So I know I just sort of disappeared last week. My father passed away last Friday and I decided I needed to take some time off to process things. He had been in really bad health, so I’m glad he’s not suffering anymore. But loss is always hard. So that’s why I disappeared.

But in true Capricorn fashion it’s time for me to get back to work. I’m a workaholic and an overthinker. If I just sit and think I will literally make myself miserable. So it’s time for a book chat. I’ve been throwing myself into completing my reading goals. Even though I didn’t get to read for a day or two because I lost my book. I’ve never had that happen before, but there’s a first for everything.

Now that I’ve found my book I’ve been obsessed with it. I’m reading The Death of Jane Lawrence right now. I picked it up right at the end of spooky season and I’ve just now made it a hundred pages in. It’s a slowwwwww start, but once it picked up I started to love it. It is so, so creepy.

End of Year Plans

It’s crazy how quickly this year went by. I can’t believe that it’s time to think about end of the year stuff. I thought about doing an entire post on this, but I thought I’d just do sort of an informal chat about it. Life is so crazy right now. I don’t know what next week will look like, much less next month. So here are a few things I hope to do before the end of 2021.

  1. Finish the Mistborn Series– I can’t believe I haven’t done this yet. I need to knock this series out, so that I can start fresh next year.
  2. Finish my Goodreads Goal- My Goodreads goal for the year was 85. I’m at 74 right now. I think I can do it, but December is usually crazy. So we’ll see.
  3. Finish all of my outstanding arcs- I want to have every arc on my list completed before 2022. I want to start out with a blank slate. So prepare yourself for a swarm of reviews.

What do you need to complete before the end of the year? Are you as behind as I am? The good thing is none of this actually matters, so relax and enjoy the ride. Join the book chat in the comments. Tell me what you’ve been loving or hating lately. Let’s talk.
