A Reader’s Recipes: The Lost Apothecary Rosemary Butter Cookies

Rosemary Butter Cookies

It’s been a really long time since I’ve done a Reader’s Recipe post and I’ve missed it. So I decided to bring it back. The Lost Apothecary was a fun book. The main character was known for her herbal remedies as well as her poisons. In the back of the book there were a few completely harmless herbal recipes included. The one that stood out to me the most was the Rosemary Butter Cookies, so I decided to make them.

They were so easy to make. I already had every ingredient in my kitchen and I love that kind of recipe. The prep work was really easy too. You just mix the butter and sugar together then add the rosemary and flour to form a dough. After that you roll them into balls and then flatten them out. Then you chill them for one hour. After that hour is up you put them in the oven for about ten minutes until they’re slightly browned. This is a no fuss recipe.

Now when I decided to try this recipe I figured I would like them. I’ve always like herbal sweets. But I can’t begin to tell you how obsessed I am with this recipe. They’re salty, sweet, buttery, and earthy all at the same time. They are absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be making the Rosemary Butter Cookies again.
