The House Across the Lake Review

The House Across the Lake

It’s not summer if I don’t pick up a Riley Sager book. This is his latest book, so I decided to give it a try. Let’s get into the review.

Casey Fletcher, a famous actress, escapes to her lake house after some bad press. But Casey’s time is anything but relaxing after she saves her super model neighbor from drowning. Casey quickly becomes obsessed with spying on them. And when Katherine Royce disappears, she knows that Tom Royce is to blame.

My Thoughts on The House Across the Lake

The House Across the Lake was a lot of fun. Was it the best structured book that I’ve ever read? No, not at all, there were some plot holes that stuck out, and I overlooked some smaller things that weren’t necessarily needed. But overall, the story caught my attention and kept me interested.

The main thing I love about Sager’s work is the atmosphere and plot twists and this has plenty of both. I loved the lake house setting. It felt perfect for a summer read, but it would also be great for fall.

And as far as the plot twists, I’m not going into much detail, but they really caught me off guard. I did guess one thing, but it was minor to the plot of the story. Overall, I was shocked and intrigued by the ending.

My Rating: 4/5
