I’ve been reading a whole lot of fantasy lately. I’ve basically binge read the last two Stormlight Archives books back to back. Honestly, I loved them, but this girl needs a break from fantasy. And with the weather warming up I find myself reaching for thrillers and horror. I don’t know why that’s where my mind goes to but it is. Since I’ve been cleaning up my tbr I found my thriller and horror section to be a bit slim, so I bought some books. Here’s what I picked up in my thrilling book haul.
Little Eve

I loved The Last House on Needless Street and I’ve been wanting to read more of Catriona Ward’s work. So I figured it would be a perfect time to pick up Little Eve. It’s marketed as a gothic suspense and I’m really hoping that’s what it gives me.
The Last Word

The Last Word was my BOTM choice for May. I don’t know much about it other than a book reviewer left a bad review for an author and the author begins to stalk her. This one is set in the Pacific North West so I’m hoping for some atmospheric, chilling moments in this.
The Year of the Witching

I’ve had my eye on The Year of the Witching for years but I never would pick it up. I think it’s time though. I like to think that when a book keeps catching your eye it’s meant for you. And this does sound like something that I could potentially really love.
A House with Good Bones

Lastly, we have my most anticipated book of the year. I can’t wait to dive into A House with Good Bones. I think if anyone could do Southern Gothic right it’s T. Kingfisher.
So those are the books I picked up in this thrilling book haul. Which one should I get to first?
