Happy Monday! We’re in the final stretch of March and it’s hard to believe. If I’m being completely honest March has not been my month. We’ve had a lot of things that happened not only in our lives but our friends as well. I’m not going to go into it because it’s not my story to tell. But I’ve experienced a lot of personal growth and plenty of sadness in this season of life.
That being said, I haven’t had the bandwidth to read much this month, which is totally ok. That’s a thing we need to talk more about on the Bookish Internet. Burnout and stress are real. And forcing yourself to read when you just don’t feel like it doesn’t accomplish anything. It’s great to have reading goals. It really is. I’m a Capricorn and I’m very goal oriented but at the end of the day you have to give your brain a break when you need it. And that’s exactly what I’m doing right now. This month my friends needed me, and I needed them. So, I don’t have any regrets.
However, the sun is warming up and the flowers are blooming, so I have been itching to read outside a little more. I started an arc for The Next Mrs. Parrish a few days ago and I’m enjoying it so far. Hopefully, I can stick with it and get back into my reading groove. We’ve also got some fun things lined up for April and May and I hope to be out of this funk soon.
What about you? How has your March been? Let me know in the comments.

You are so right. If you can’t give 100% to something due to personal issues then step back and look after yourself first. I do hope you have a much better April, take it easy 📖 and your friends too.
Thank you! I hope you have a great April as well!
The Slow March. I completed 12 books, may be able to finish 2 more by the end of it if I find time, 0 if I don’t. Reading is not a chore, if life pulls me elsewhere, I don’t do it.
Exactly! I love meeting my goals but sometimes life gets hectic. And I want reading to continue to be my relaxing hobby.
I love reading outside at the start of spring – as long as the mosquitos aren’t out of control. LOL!
I understand that! Mosquitos are the worst.
