We were able to take a much needed camping trip last weekend. It was the first camping trip of 2024. And hopefully not the last. We didn’t go very far from home, but it was still nice to get away.

We got to the spot pretty early in the morning so that we could set up. Like I mentioned in my last camping post we bought a new camper and so we’re still learning to set it up. But we’re finally getting into a good routine with it.

After we set up camp we headed to the lake, and it was the perfect day for fishing. The wind was blowing so it wasn’t super hot, but it was warm enough that I could sit with my feet in the water. It was so relaxing.

Then we when we came back from fishing, I started reading Assassin’s Apprentice. And when I tell you that that is all I did the rest of the trip I’m not lying. I loveee this book. I made it 185 pages into it on this trip and I absolutely can’t wait to devour the rest of it. I haven’t been this excited about a book for a minute now. I’m so glad I gave it a try.
So, the first camping trip of 2024 was a success. Here’s hoping that the rest of them are as successful.

Glad to hear you had a nice camping trip! We’ve got our first one of the year coming up soon as well and I’m looking forward to it!
I hope you have the best time!
So fun! And so lucky that the temperature was just right. 🙂 It’s sooo hot where I live rn, so I think camping would be unbearable here 😭 Glad you’re enjoying your current read as well!! <3
aimee @ aimee can read
I’m trying to squeeze in as much outside time as I can. Our hot weather is on the way lol. It’s actually been unseasonably cool here the last few days.
Oooh, how nice! I love reading on camping trips — it’s been a long time for me, but I remember how great it can be. Looks like a beautiful spot!
Thanks! It was great!
This looks like such a relaxing trip. Glad you enjoyed it!
This looks like the perfect little trip! And so funny that you read a Robin Hobb book—I just finished my first book by her, Shaman’s Crossing. Glad you’re enjoying this one!
