I love to have a night in at least once in October. It gives me the chance to relax and unwind in what ends up being one of the busiest times of the year. So here are a few of my must haves for a perfect Halloween night in.
Cozy Pajamas
Walmart has the best Halloween pajama selection right now and they’re super comfy. I like the short sets because I never know what the weather will be here in the South. If it’s hot, I’ll still be cool without giving up my cute pajamas.
A Warm Blanket
I love to have a warm Halloween themed blanket around when I want a cozy night in. Especially these super soft throws. They really help to relax me. Granted I might have to turn my air conditioner down to be able to use it, but they are nice to have on the occasional cold October evening.
Decorations
I can never have too many jack-o-lanterns and blow molds. They just scream Halloween to me. I love to fill my living room with light up decorations and turn my room lighting off when we watch movies. It just has the best ambiance that really puts me in the Halloween mood.
A Sweet Snack
I’m obsessed with this Halloween Graveyard Bark from Target right now. It is milk chocolate with M&Ms, Pretzels, and Halloween sprinkles. It is the perfect mix of sweet, salty, melty, and crunchy. I guarantee I will have a bag of this sitting on my table during our movie night.
Spooky Books
After I get all settled in for the night, I love to pick up a Halloween classic. There’s just something about a spooky read that helps to set the Halloween vibe. Here are a few Halloween classics that I recommended a few years ago that I still recommend to this day. You can check out that post here.
Nostalgic Movies
Lastly, I love to end the night with a nostalgic movie. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Halloweentown
- Hocus Pocus
- The Nightmare Before Christmas
- Casper
- Scooby Doo and the Witch’s Ghost
So those are my Halloween night in must haves. If you haven’t, make sure you plan some time in this busy season to have a relaxing night at home. I promise it will be worth it.

I’m definitely up for a quiet night in with books and candles. I love the pyjamas and blanket although here in the UK my evening would definitely have to include my fluffy dressing gown.
I’m a bit jealous. The temps here have not dropped at all. It still feels like July. But hopefully there is a cold front coming through soon.
We’re off to Kansas City in 10 days and I’m really hoping that they hold onto their Summer weather until then😀
Maybe they will! If not visit Alabama because we will be hot until Thanksgiving probably lol.
