My Thoughts on Wind and Truth So Far

You’re going to get tired of seeing Wind and Truth content from me and I do apologize….sort of. This is the most fun I have had with a book in a minute and because of that I’m savoring it. I know it’s going to be a long time before we return to this world.

Right now I’m on page 448 of 1329 so I have quite a way to go before finishing it, but I’ve read far enough that I have some thoughts. First off, it’s great to be back in this world. And with over a year between reading Rhythm of War and Wind of Truth I was worried there would be a disconnect until I got reacquainted with the series, but I really didn’t experience that. I dove right back in an I didn’t feel lost at all, which is unusual because I’m not great at remembering details. Now I did forget who the Mink was but I watched Daniel Greene’s recap video and that cleared it up for me.

The next thing I’ve noted about this book is how quotable it is. I have a list started on my phone just filled with quotes and passages that I love. It’s one of those books that just showcases the author’s ability to manipulate the written word. I love it when a book makes me pause and savor a sentence or two.

And the last thing I’ve noted is the impeccable character work as usual. I’m loving all of the characters but a few are standing out to me this time. I’m really loving Szeth’s pov this time. Exploring Shinovar and it’s culture through his backstory has been a ton of fun. And of course, I will always be a Kaladin stand.

Honestly, so far, Wind and Truth has been everything I wanted it to be and I can’t wait to finish it up. And just expect a lot more Sanderson content because I am firmly back in the Cosmere. Hopefully, I can knock out a few Secret Project books next.
