St. Patrick’s Day 2025 Book Tag

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you’re wearing green. I am on accident because honestly, I forgot it was today. But I wear green most of the time so I’m always ready. But anyhow I saw this book tag over at GemsBookNook and thought it was a fun way to celebrate. So, let’s do the St. Patrick’s Day 2025 Book Tag.

End of the Rainbow

What book did you have a hard time tracking down a copy of?

I had a hard time tracking down a copy of The Short Timers. I went through a period where I was binge reading historical fiction set during the Vietnam War. The movie Full Metal Jacket is based on this book, and I felt that I absolutely needed to read it. Unfortunately, it’s no longer in print so I bought it from a rare book dealer based in the United Kingdom.

Pot of Gold

When you found that book, was it worth the quest?

It was a good book, and it sits proudly on my shelf, but I wouldn’t even consider it a favorite, haha.

Celebrating a Rich Heritage

Name a book that contains a well-developed culture.

A Song of Ice and Fire has one of the best developed worlds that I’ve experienced, even though I think the book I’m reading now might give it a run for its money. I’ll tell you more about that later. But Martin done a great job creating his world and the history behind it.

Shamrock Shakes

What’s your favorite food to snack on while reading?

Right now, I’m obsessed with Dot’s Honey Mustard Pretzels and Built Puff Bars.

Four Leaf Clover

Name a book you thought would be ‘just another generic book but turned out to be something great.

I honestly thought Rosemary’s Baby would be good but not great. Once I started reading it though I realized that I was completely wrong. I loved that book.

Irish Whiskey

What’s your favorite tradition of St. Patty’s Day?

Outside of this tag, I don’t really celebrate St. Patty’s Day, but one year we happened to be in Savannah, and they go all out for St. Patty’s Day. I would love to go back to watch the parade again.

So that’s the St. Patrick’s Day 2025 Book Tag. If you want to play along, I tag you!
