My Bookish Wishlist

Today a few of my friends and I were talking about bookish wishlists. We’re talking about the off the wall anything you can imagine wishlists that live in the back of your mind. Some are more realistic, and some are just my personal fantasies. So, here’s my bookish wishlist.

The Completion of A Song of Ice and Fire Series

I wait for the completion of A Song of Ice and Fire in the same way that Christians wait for the Lord to return. The Bible says it’s going to happen, but it probably won’t happen in my lifetime lol. But in all seriousness, this is the book that I am waiting for. It’s torture that my favorite book series is incomplete.

More Ghost Stories

I miss ghost stories like the ghost stories of the Victorian era. There is just something so eerie and atmospheric about Gothic horror that I crave. I like modern Gothic horror as well, but I would love to see more written in the vein of classic writers.

A Stephen King/George R. R. Martin Collab

I want this to happen, but also if it did happen it might be too depressing to actually read, hahahaha. Seriously, just imagine a horror fantasy from these guys. I don’t even know what I want them to write. I just want them to write something together.

A Book Con Near Me

I want to go to a book convention soooo bad but most of them are out of reach for me. I have a few on my bucket list but due to work commitments I haven’t been able to find the time to travel very far. I would love to have one within driving distance. Maybe I should see if I could make that happen.

So that’s my bookish wishlist. I absolutely would love to see yours in the comments. Or better yet, if you have the time, I would love to see you make a similar post and tag me in it.

  1. Definitely yes to the conclusion of A song of ice and fire although I suspect that it’s never going to happen. Similarly, Patrick Rothfuss finishing In the Name of the Wind would also be great. My own personal fantasy would be to always have room on my bookshelf for one more book.

    1. I agree. I don’t think he will finish. I think he wrote himself into a hole that he can’t get out of. And the same with the Name of the Wind. I would love a conclusion, but I won’t hold my breath. Also, a bookshelf like that would be amazing!

  2. Agreed about the conclusion of ASOIAF – although I’ve given up actively expecting it at this point!

And more book cons near we live would be awesome – it doesn’t feel like it’s something the UK does a whole lot in general, though…

  3. I’m going to echo Janette’s comment — I feel like Ice & Fire will never be finished! I’ve read all the volumes so far, but at this point, I feel much less interested in continuing. (I suppose if the remaining books ever do see the light of day, I’ll give in and read them!)

    1. I don’t expect him to finish it either. My fear is that if he does ever complete it, I will pick it up and realize I don’t love it as much as I remember loving the series.
