Happy Friday. I’ve just caffeinated with a caramel chocolate coconut protein coffee from Dunkin. If you haven’t had one, they’re delicious. Anyhow, I’m hyper and ready to chat about a weird situation that I’ve never experienced. Normally, when I dnf a book I’m pretty confident in that dnf. And earlier this week I dnfed The Strength of the Few. I even wrote a dnf diaries entry about it that was supposed to go up today. But for some reason this book keeps calling me back. So now I’m reading it again. One minute I love it and the next minute I’ve lost interest. I’m not going to lie there are some serious pacing issues with this one. It has severe second book syndrome. However, I’m nearly 550 pages in on a 720 page book. I’m going to tough it out and see how it goes. I’m HOPING that the end saves it. I do find glimmers of hope in the plot every now and again. Now I know this won’t be a favorite book but apparently I’m not ready to give up on this series just yet.
If you’ve read The Strength of the Few let me know what you thought about it in the comments.

Good day! Tell me more, how far did u read and are you familiar with the author? 😊
I read to around 505 when I put it down. I’m not super familiar with the author other than the first book of the series. I’ve made it to 574 now that I’ve picked it back up.
I haven’t read it yet and am still undecided about whether I want to or not. I’ve seen such varying reviews and I’m not sure that having three different storylines for the same character would work for me.
I’m definitely interested to see what you think when you’ve finished it
It’s definitely ambitious. I guess my main hope is that all three storylines come together at the end. I don’t think I could do another book with the split storylines lol.
It was definitely a step down for me from The Will of the Many. I didn’t consider DNFing at any point and I do want to continue the series, but there was definitely an issue with the structure and pacing! Very much a case of second book syndrome!
Totally agree! I’m very close to finishing it and I’m glad I didn’t dnf it. But hopefully the next book improves.
