Friday the 13th Franchise Book Tag

Happy Friday the 13th, spooky people. What are you up to today? I thought I’d celebrate the weekend with the Friday the 13th Franchise Book Tag. I found this over on How to Art’s Youtube channel. Be sure to check theirs out. Now let’s get to it.

A book where the mother is the villain.

My Evil Mother was a fun listen.

A book in the backwoods.

My favorite kind of book. Where the Crawdads Sing was the first one that came to mind.

A book with a masked character.

Phantom of the Opera has the best masked character in my humble (but right) opinion. I need to reread this.

A book with the best final chapter.

The final chapter of The Hero of Ages wrecked me. I still have emotional damage from it.

A series book that changes its protagonist from the first book.

Technically, it’s a side book but Skyward Flight comes to mind.

A book with someone or something resurrected from death.

The Strength of the Few resurrected several characters in several different worlds. It’s confusing. Just read it. But, honestly, reading it doesn’t make it any less confusing.

A book with a character with telekinesis.

Carrie is THE book that deals with telekinesis.

A book that takes place in New York.

Rosemary’s Baby takes place in New York in an idyllic neighborhood. Or so you think.

A book that takes place in Hell or has something to do with the occult.

In Hell Bent they are trying to rescue someone from Hell. I can’t remember if they actually go there. I’m going to say that it counts.

A book that takes place in space.

Leviathan Wakes has been on my mind lately. Space Operas aren’t generally my thing, but I would like to read this.

A book that has characters from different franchises/mashup.

The ACOTAR universe was mashed up with the Crescent City universe. I was excited about it but I dnfed it.

A book that is a retelling.

Salt & Broom is a witchy Jane Eyre retelling. I enjoyed it.

A book that you found in a thrift or antique shop.

Ghost Stories by Paul Trembley. It’s a Stephen King Library Edition.

So that was the Friday the 13th Franchise Book Tag. If you want to play along, I tag you.
