It’s that time of year again. It’s time to check in on my goals and see where I’m standing. I can already tell you I’m not where I want to be with my reading. It’s not been a bad year, but I’ve bounced around from book to book. I just haven’t hit my groove. So, here’s my 2026 midyear reading wrap up.
Number Read
I’ve read 21 books so far this year. This time last year I had read 26 so I’m actually not as far off as I expected. This year I want to read 50 books though, so I’ve got to pick up the pace just a little.
Favorite So Far

The Will of the Many has been my favorite so far which is disappointing to say because I didn’t love book two. It just went in a different direction and changed what I loved about The Will of the Many. However, it was ambitious so I will probably still give book three a read.
Least Favorite So Far

At first, I wanted to my The Strength of the Few my least favorite. Ultimately though I think it was my most disappointing not necessarily my least favorite. I had such high hopes for The Strength of the Few, and it did disappoint. However, there were still things about it that I liked. So, I think my least favorite of the year was The Silent Companions. There was nothing about this book that I actually enjoyed. I was generous when I gave it a 2-star rating in my review. I think it’s closer to a one star.
DNFED
Dungeon Crawler Carl
New Obsession
Outlander? I’m kind of shocked by this because I decided not to continue the series years ago. I think I read this in my pre-blog days. I had no intention of going back to it, but I have. And I’m having such a great time with it.
Goals Moving Forward
Honestly, my only goal for the rest of the year is to read Edge of Eternity. That book has been on my shelf nearly seven years. It’s time.
Whelp. That’s another midyear wrap up in the books. How is your year going so far?
