Another month has slipped away somehow. When I started this wrap up I honestly couldn’t remember what I read which is shocking because I loved all of them. Anyhow, let’s get to my June 2026 wrap up.
A Lonely Broadcast
Synopsis:
If you find yourself driving down a winding mountain road near an endless stretch of pines, try tuning in to 104.6 FM: the radio station that shouldn’t exist. Troubled radio host Evelyn McKinnon returns to her hometown of Pinehaven, but soon realizes the isolated mountain village has secrets of monstrous proportions. Synopsis:
Anna has two rules for the annual Pace family destination vacations: Tread lightly and survive.
It isn’t easy when she’s the only one in the family who doesn’t quite fit in. Her twin brother, Benny, goes with the flow so much he’s practically dissolved, and her older sister, Nicole, is so used to everyone―including her blandly docile husband and two kids―falling in line that Anna often ends up in trouble for simply asking a question. Mom seizes every opportunity to question her life choices, and Dad, when not reminding everyone who paid for this vacation, just wants some peace and quiet.
The gorgeous, remote villa in tiny Monteperso seems like a perfect place to endure so much family togetherness, until things start going off the rails―the strange noises at night, the unsettling warnings from the local villagers, and the dark, violent past of the villa itself.

My Full Review: Whoops. Apparently, I didn’t review this one. I really enjoyed it. The characters were awful people, but the book was so good. It had the perfect summer vacation horror vibe.
The Exorcist’s House
Synopsis:
In the summer of 1994, psychologist Daniel Hill buys a rustic farmhouse nestled in the rolling hills of West Virginia.
Along with his wife and teenage daughter, the family uproots their lives in Ohio and moves south. They are initially seduced by the natural beauty of the country setting. That soon changes when they discover a hidden room in the basement with a well, boarded shut and adorned with crucifixes.
Local legends about the previous owner being an exorcist come to light, but by then, all Hell has broken loose.
