The Makeup and Book Tag

I love the dynamic experience of the bookish internet, but sometimes I get nostalgic. So today I’m throwing it way back to one of the first book tags I ever came across. I don’t know who the original poster was, but I used to see this tag all the time in my early blogging days. Humor me and let’s dive into The Makeup and Book Tag.

Primer: Pick a book that left a lasting impression. 

A Game of Thrones completely changed my reading taste. It was the first fantasy series I ever pushed through and now I can’t get enough fantasy.

Nyx The Face Glue is perfect for the hot, humid Alabama summers. It keeps everything in place.

Foundation: Pick your favorite first book in a series.

The Will of the Many was an amazing first book. I wish I could say the same about book two.

Mac Studio Radiance a classic for a reason. It’s so, so good. It gives the right amount of glow without sliding off my face.

Concealer: Pick a character you wish you could get rid of.

Anna Matheson from With a Vengeance. She’s the main character but the entire book would be better without her, hahaha.

Elf Camo Concealer is just as good as shape tape if you ask me. Plus, you can’t beat the price tag.

Powder: Pick your favorite last book in a series.

The Hero of Ages crushed my soul….in a good way.

I’m all about bang for a buck. Wet n Wild Photofocus setting powder works as well as luxury powders I’ve tried for half the price.

Eyebrows: Pick a book you think everyone should read.

I’ll stand by my answer in the old post To Kill a Mockingbird should be on everyone’s reading list. And I’d like to add The Grapes of Wrath.

Okay, I love a bargain but sometimes you just have to spend the extra money. You need this brow gel. It’s life changing.

Eyeshadow: Pick a book with your favorite colors on the cover. 

I still love green.

I didn’t think I would ever be a neutrals girlie but here I am. This is the best neutrals eye palette I’ve experienced, in my humble opinion. Bonus points because it’s travel friendly.

Eyeliner: Pick a dark and mysterious book.

You know how I feel about Chasing the Boogeyman. It was a great dark and mysterious read. And also, nostalgic which is a touch confusing, but it works.

This is the darkest, most crisp liner pen I’ve ever used. I’m on pen number 15 if that helps. And they last forever.

Blush: Pick a book with some cringe worthy romance.

Parts of Outlander are so cringey, but I did enjoy parts of it. I think it’s a product of its time.

I’ve jumped on the cream blush bandwagon. Rare Beauty is really, really good.

Highlighter: Pick a book that brightened your day.

Cryptid Club is the cutest graphic novel. It just made me smile.

I don’t really wear highlighter anymore.

Lipstick: Your favorite book kiss.

Once I gave up my Shallan/Kaladin dreams I really enjoyed Adolin and Shallan’s relationship.

Mac lipstick cannot be matched. Fight me if you disagree.
