A Practical Magic Weekend

It’s been hectic in our neck of the woods lately and I just needed to unwind. And it’s no secret that I love a good themed outing. That’s one of my favorite ways to romanticize life and just to have a little extra fun. Cj and I had some free time this weekend, and Practical Magic 2 is in theaters, so I deemed it Practical Magic weekend. Here’s what we got up to.

Friday

Friday night started with a rewatch of Practical Magic. I usually watch it this time of year anyway, but it was extra exciting since we were going to watch part 2 the next day. We had our favorite pizza from Dominoes, popcorn, and way too much candy. You can’t convince me that there is a better way to spend a Friday night.

Saturday

Saturday morning, I woke up and put on my most Practical Magic inspired outfit. Then we started off the day with a stop to the local donut shop. Rest assured that I did eat a real breakfast before eating a donut at 8:00 a.m. Honestly, I didn’t want a donut at all, but I can’t pass up a spooky treat. This was delicious and tasted like green in the best way possible.

After breakfast walked around our new Rural King for about an hour and half. I had to walk off the sugar high before sitting still for a movie. And if you’re not familiar with Rural King, it’s like a Bucee’s, Academy, and Tractor Supply had a baby. This one just opened and I can already tell I’m going to be a frequent visitor.

Next up, we went to watch Practical Magic 2. We spent way too much money on snacks and drinks, but that’s part of the movie theater experience. Then we settled in for the movie. Overall, I really enjoyed it. However, I will say there are a few parts that don’t make complete sense timeline wise, but I don’t want to spoil anything. But it was a lot of fun anyhow. Oh, and a friendly PSA, be prepared to cry. A lot.

Also, I just noticed Sandra Bullocks eyebrow is missing in this picture. It was not missing in the actual poster. I’m not sure where it went, hahaha.

After the movie I ran to the closest bookstore because I must read the Practical Magic series. I read the first one years ago, but now I’m obsessed and need to read the rest of them. I’ll have a book haul later in the week, so be sure to come back for that.

Look how cute this Loungefly backpack is. I would have totally got it if I didn’t hate backpacks. I never actually wear them.

After we left the mall, we finished the day with our favorite Chinese food and went home tired and content.

Sunday

Sunday wasn’t super Practical Magic themed. We went to church like normal and then ate tacos at my grandparents. I did get about an hour to read in my book room while baby E napped though, so that was fun. Be sure to check out the quote at the very bottom of the page.

And as Sunday came to an end so did our Practical Magic themed weekend. I had so much fun and I’m grateful for the time that Cj and I got to spend together. It was awesome to have the chance to chill out before we go right back into another busy season. And lastly, don’t forget: “Always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder.
