After I finished Skyward, I immediately jumped into Starsight. I didn’t want to leave this world. I wanted to get caught up because there are rumors that the third book will come out this fall. But for now let’s get into my review.
Spensa has finally become a pilot. She also learned the crushing truth to her father’s demise. She’s sure there is more to the story. Whatever happened to her father could happen to her. She hears the stars, and everything she has been taught is a lie. But she will do all that she needs to save humankind. Even if that means flying to the edge of the galaxy.
My Thoughts on Starsight
So I think it’s pretty obvious that I love this series so far. Starsight was another great installment. I did have a little bit of a harder time staying focused on it, but I don’t think that was the books fault. The plot did move a little slower, but we were being introduced to a whole new world with new characters.
The new characters were a huge edition to this series. We are introduced to several new races of aliens. We learn about each group as Spensa does. That added so much depth and intrigue to the story. And like I said in my Skyward review, each character has their own distinct voice. So even though new characters and species are being thrown at us, they are easy to distinguish.
Now to move on to my favorite characters. Mbot and Doomslug. They each play a major role in this book. I can’t go into too much detail, but if you’re like me you’ll be satisfied with their involvement. I will say I’m a little skeptical about how Mbot will be used in the next book. I’m interested to see what comes of that little storyline.
I really need the next book asap. I have questions. Reading Starsight was just pure enjoyment. It had everything I need to satisfy me.
My Rating: 4/5
