Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is a classic, but it’s been so long since I’ve read it. After reading the Goosebumps Retro Collection, I’ve been in the mood to read all the nostalgic things. So let’s get into my thoughts and I’m also going to be sharing a list of my favorite stories in this collection.
My Thoughts
Overall, I still really enjoyed Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. However, I did find a few stories that I just didn’t connect with. But I really expect that for a short story collection. I honestly expected to remember some of the stories but I didn’t. It was like I was reading it for the first time. It was still an enjoyable experience and I’ll probably pick up the rest of them.
My favorite Stories
- Cold as Clay
- The Haunted House
- The Guests
- Room for One More
- The White Satin Gown
- High Beams
So that’s my experience with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. I really enjoyed the fact that these were based on old folk tales. I love stuff like that. I can just imagine telling these stories around a campfire. And I never noticed the citations until now. The authors really did their research for this collection and I totally respect that.
