End of Summer Book Haul

August is coming to a close which in my mind means that fall is coming. I know fall doesn’t technically start until later in September, but to me September first means fall. And since fall is just right around the corner, I’ve been craving spooky books and dark academia. Right now, my tbr shelf is really lacking in choices for scary books, so I had to fix that. Welcome to my end of summer book haul. Let’s get to it.

Babel

Babel has been one of my most anticipated books this year. I’m so excited for another dark academia read. I’ve heard so many good things about this one. So, I’m hoping to love it.

What Moves the Dead

I had to pick What Moves the Dead up. It’s a retelling of The Fall of the House of Usher. That totally got my attention. I’m still not a huge fan of the cover, but the premise sounds right up my alley. Bring on the gothic suspense!

Old Country

I am so excited to read Old Country. The cover caught my attention, but then I read the synopsis, and I knew it was for me. It’s about a couple that moves to rural Idaho to live off the land, but then a malevolent spirit interrupts their plans. This sounds amazing.

Cottagecore Galore

And the last thing I bought was a cottagecore coloring book because it’s adorable.

So that’s my end of summer book haul. I can’t wait to dive into these spooky, dark reads.
