Spooky Destinations on My Bucket List

I love to travel. And I really love to travel to places that I’ve read about. In honor of Halloween, I wanted to show you some of the spooky destinations on my bucket list.

The House of the Seven Gables

I’ve wanted to visit The House of the Seven Gables before I ever picked up the novel. But now that I’m reading it, I really want to go. And luckily, it is in Salem, Massachusetts, which I’ve wanted to visit for years.

Edgar Allan Poe’s House

I love Edgar Allan Poe and I would love to visit his house in Pennsylvania. It’s now a registered historical location and a museum. I think it would be interesting to see what life was like for Poe.

Whitby Abbey

Honestly, Whitby Abbey should probably be at the top of this list. This has been on my bucket list for so long. It helped to inspire Dracula and was heavily mentioned in Dracul. I would love to go and see the place that influenced one of my favorite books.

Sleepy Hollow Cemetary

I would put Bonaventure Cemetary on this list, but I’ve already visited it a couple of times. I loved it so I started a search to find other literary cemetery sites, and I stumbled across Sleepy Hollow Cemetary. It was featured in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. I love walking through historical cemeteries, and I think it would be really interesting.

So those are a few of my spooky destinations. Do you have any that you want to visit?
