It’s no secret that I’ve been deep in the Cosmere for a couple of years now. And one of my favorite things about the Cosmere is the characters. And not just the main characters, the side characters are awesome too. So, let’s talk about some of my favorite Cosmere side characters. I’m not completely through The Stormlight Archives yet so this could change. But let’s get to it.
TenSoon
I loveee TenSoon. He was not very likable at first, for good reason. But he eventually came around. He is witty and serious, but he quickly became one of my favorite Mistborn characters.
Rock
I knew I was going to like Rock from the very beginning. He is hilarious and heartwarming all at the same time. I’m so glad that book three has segments from his perspective. Plus, you have to love the cook. I love reading about the stew that he is making. I love to cook so I can totally relate to him.
Pattern
Pattern is an interesting one. He started out quite odd, but he’s still adjusting to Shallan’s world. And it’s so impressive that Sanderson can develop such a solid world that it’s easy to find outliers in the society. But Pattern is growing and developing, and I’ve really come to enjoy his character.
MeLaan
And lastly, we have MeLaan. She is a kandra that shows up in Mistborn Era 2 and she’s hilarious. I loved her personality, and I loved the way she interacted with the other characters. She was a perfect addition to this group of friends.

I have only read Mistborn and Elantris from Sanderson and TenSoon is definitely my favourite too. I love how his and Vin’s relationship develops throughout the series tbh! I read Elantris so long ago that I can’t remember specific characters, so cannot say much except that I recommend it!
OKAY BUT CHARACTERS WHO START UP UNLIKABLE AND THEN END UP GROWING ON YOU + HILARIOUS LITTLE PEOPLE WHO COOK FOOD AND MELAAN WHO JUST SOUNDS FABULOUS?? YOUR TASTE IS AMAZINGNESS OBVIOUSLY.
