Amy’s Tea Book Tag

I found this tag over on The Book Nut’s page. It was originally created on To Think of Books on Youtube. I figured it was a perfect tag for me. So, let’s get to Amy’s Tea Book Tag.

DOUBLE BERGAMOT EARL GREY: A ROBUST, DEEP, INTELLECTUAL, AND FLAVOURFUL BOOK

Babel. If you strip down the magic system (which is impressive in itself) it’s an important story about colonization. It shows all that can be lost in translation. It’s a thought-provoking book wrapped in an excellent fantastical package.

TIM HORTON’S STEEPED: A BOOK YOU READ ON THE GO THAT YOU COME BACK TO AGAIN AND AGAIN

Travels with Charley. I picked this up on a whim at a library sale years ago. I keep rereading it and I love it every time.

MEYER LEMON: A TANGY, FAST-PACED READ; GONE BEFORE YOU’VE FULLY SAVOURED THE FLAVOUR

My Evil Mother. This is an audiobook that I enjoyed but it was so short there wasn’t much to think about. It was fast-paced and enjoyable, but it didn’t really stick with me.

LADY GREY: A SMOOTH, SUBTLE, CLASSIC BOOK; PERFECT FOR A SERENE WINTER MORNING

Uhhh. Hmmm. Serene doesn’t really describe my reading taste, but Wuthering Heights comes to mind. It’s atmospheric and slower paced. I think it would be a good winter morning read.

ORANGE PEKOE: A POPULAR NOVEL THAT EVERYONE’S READ

I have seen Fourth Wing everywhere. At first, I didn’t think it was a book that I would pick up. But now I really want to see what the hype is about. Maybe I will pick it up this weekend.

ENGLISH BREAKFAST: A BRITISH CLASSIC

This question makes me realize that I really need to expand my reading comfort zone. I haven’t read many British classics, but one of my favorites is Jane Eyre. I love everything about it.

CANADIAN BREAKFAST: A TITLE THAT TASTES A LITTLE LIKE ENGLISH BREAKFAST BUT READS LIKE THE NEW WORLD (AN EARLY CANADIAN OR AMERICAN WORK)

The Scarlett Letter reads like a British classic. It was an early American story that I’ve read and loved several times.

GREEN: A HEALTHY BOOK THAT FEEDS YOUR MIND

This is the Story of a Happy Marriage covers a multitude of topics and I love Anne Patchett’s take on life. She is witty and intelligent. I keep meaning to pick up another of her books, but I haven’t, and that’s a shame.

ICED TEA: A SWEET SUMMER TREAT, BREWED FOR THE LAZY BRIEF DAYS OF SUMMER

Tuck Everlasting captures the feeling of summer perfectly. It is the perfect whimsical summer read and I will recommend it until my face turns blue. Seriously, give it a read.

That wraps up Amy’s Tea Book Tag. If you want to play along then I tag you!

And tell me about your favorite tea in the comments.
