Books in My Kindle Library

On Monday I shared my thoughts on my new Kindle, and I mentioned that I would share my Kindle library today. So here we are. I’m actually shocked at the number of books that I’ve stockpiled already. But the Kindle did come with three months of Kindle Unlimited so most of them came from that. Anyhow, let’s get to it.

Divine Rivals

It’s no secret why I added Divine Rivals to my tbr. It’s all over the bookish internet. I’m really excited to sink my teeth into a good fantasy romance. I’m going on a vacation this weekend so this might be what I decide to pick up.

The Housemaid

The Housemaid is another one that I have seen all over the bookish internet. I’ve heard several people say it’s one of the best thrillers that they’ve read in a while. And I think I’m going to need a fantasy refresh so this might be a good place to start.

The Pram

The Pram is a 58 page short story that is featured in the Creature Feature collection on Amazon. It’s a retelling of Rosemary’s Baby. I haven’t read the original, but it sounds intriguing to me. Plus, I’ve never read anything by Joe Hill so I guess it’s a good place to start.

Ankle Snatchers

All of the books until Big Bad are from the Creature Feature collection on Kindle Unlimited. I’ll go ahead and tell you that, so I don’t keep repeating myself. I’m interested to see my thoughts on Ankle Snatchers because I haven’t liked Grady Hendrix in the past. But this book is twenty-nine pages so I should be able to get through it. And it does sound interesting.

It Waits in the Woods

I think I’m most excited about this Creature Feature. Mainly because it mentions scary campfire stories. That’s the easiest way to catch my attention. I can’t wait to dive into It Waits in the Woods.

In Bloom

This gives What Moves the Dead vibes without the fantasy aspect. In Bloom is based around a journalist researching a hallucinogenic algae on the coast of Cape Cod. Every year the growth gets worse, and no one knows why.

Best of Luck

I don’t know a lot about Best of Luck one and the synopsis doesn’t really catch my attention. I’m still going to give it a read. It’s about a friend who has all of the luck and another friend who says that the successful friend drains it out of him like blood. There’s a lot of ways that this could go so I don’t know. I guess I’ll see when I pick it up.

Big Bad

When they said these are short stories, they meant it. I think this is possibly the longest ringing in at 59 pages. These should be easy to read through and I’m hoping they will put me back in a reading mood. Anyhow, Big Bad is about a family trapped inside their home by wolves and the tensions run high.

Grimstone

I picked up Grimstone in a book dowloading frenzy. At first, I thought it was paranormal romance but now rereading the synopsis I think it leans more towards a gothic romance. Either way it’s a romance set in dark spooky house with a suspicious murder in the midst. I think I will really enjoy this.

Nettle & Bone

I’ve been wanting to read more of T. Kingfisher’s work so when I saw Nettle & Bone on Kindle Unlimited, I added it to my library so fast. I remember the hype around this one when it first came out, but I don’t completely remember what it was about. But I do remember that it has dark fairytale vibes and I feel like T. Kingfisher could pull that off really well.

The House Witch

The House Witch was labeled as a humorous romantic fantasy which isn’t normally my vibe. But then it mentioned a familiar named Kraken and political machinations, so I’m intrigued. It might be fun to get out of my comfort zone for a minute. Plus, I’m sold on anything to do with kitchen witchery.

The Bell Jar

I’ve always wanted to read something by Sylvia Plath, and I figured The Bell Jar was a good place to start. I want to read more classics this year and I’m trying to be intentional about picking ones that I will actually read. This is a psychological thriller that follows the main character as her mental health declines. It sounds like it’s going to be terribly bleak so I might have to wait a minute before reading this.

Burial Rights

I bought Burial Rights because I was hunting a book with deep winter themes, and this was recommended several times. It’s another story that’s going to be rather on the bleak side as it follows a lady in Iceland that was rumored to have murdered her master. She is then sent away to an isolated farm to await her execution, It’s based on a true story so I’m interested to give it a read.

So those are the books in my Kindle library right now. I had more than I realized to be honest, but I think I’ll go through them quickly. So, if you have any Kindle Unlimited recommendations let me know in the comments.

  1. I’ve also read Nettle & Bone, and loved it! You probably know this, but once you run out of your free trial, a really great source for Kindle books is the library! I do buy more Kindle books than I should, but I use the Libby app through the library all the time, and it’s such a great way to access the books I want (FREE!)

    1. Yes! I just realized the other day that Libby had ebooks too. I’ve used it for years with audiobooks but it completely slipped my mind that they had ebooks too, haha.
