I Joined the Kindle Bandwagon: My Thoughts So Far

I bought a Kindle. I don’t mind reading eBooks but it’s almost impossible to read them on my iPad in the sun. The glare was killer. And considering I love to read outside (literally built a blog around it) I just forfeited reading eBooks in general. So, I decided I would treat myself and here we are.

I’ve had this a couple of weeks now and I can really say that I am enjoying it. I ordered the most basic model available because I just wanted an eReader. I didn’t want to be able to get notifications or anything like that because I get easily distracted. And that’s exactly what this model gives me. It’s a bare bone black and white eReader but it was exactly what I was looking for. And the matte screen looks almost exactly like paper. I also love how compact it is because I can throw it in my bag on the go.

Since I’m caring it in my purse, I wanted a case to go on it. I chose this black case from Amazon. I love the fact that it’s a folio type case but it’s clear in the back so I can still do the sticker trend that’s all over Bookstagram.

My sticker collection started off with this one. My husband bought me a library stamp embosser for my birthday this year. I thought it was a perfect first addition. I hope to add a few more when we go on vacation at the end of the week.

Overall, I’m super happy with my Kindle. I’m excited to have something lightweight and compact to travel with. Plus, the three free months of Kindle Unlimited is amazing. I’ve already added so many books to my library. I’ll be sharing those on Wednesday though because this post would be soooo long if I included them today. Honestly, I think I have a problem. But that’s it from me today.

Let me know it the comment. Do you have a Kindle or are you a physical book reader?

  1. I can definitely sympathise with the glare on an ipad. I use my very outdated ipad mini as my ereader and it is impossible to read in bright sunshine. However as I burn really easily, I don’t often sit out in the sun to read so it’s not too much of a problem. I hope that you enjoy your new kindle.

  2. I love my Kindle! I take it almost everywhere, and love being able to read outdoors with it. (I also love that it syncs with the Kindle app on my phone, so if I’m out and about and want to continue reading for a few minutes, I can pick up right where I left off).

  3. i’m more of a physical book reader but i’d love to try out a kindle some day! It feels a lot more convenient, but it feels like there’s so many e-readers out there & its tough to see which ones would work best for me!
