My Road Trip Essentials

We’re on our way to the Smokey Mountains this weekend. It’s one of my favorite quick vacation spots when I need to relax. It’s a perfect mix of nature and attractions in my opinion. It’s about a four-hour drive from our house to Pigeon Forge, so I need a few things to make the ride perfect. Here are my road trip essentials.

A Kindle/Book/Or Audiobook

I’m going to go ahead and admit that I’m a passenger princess. I hate to drive. I drive at home but when we go on vacation my husband is the driver. So, I always try to take something to read with me. This trip I will probably be taking my Kindle because it’s light and easy to pack. But if you’re not a passenger an audiobook is a great way to pass the time. I listen to them on my commute to work most days.

A Travel Cup

I have my Stanley cup with me 24/7. It is my worst nightmare to be stuck in a car without something to drink. Now I might not drink it but at least I have that option lol. Most of the time I have water, but sometimes it might have a Coke in it. Especially, if we stop at Buc-ees.

A Good Snack

Like a drink I need a snack to be happy on a roadtrip. Right now, I’m loving Tru Fru snacks, specifically the dark chocolate banana. So, I’m stocking up on those. But I love gas station snacks as well. My go-tos are Honey Nut Chex-Mix and chocolate iced donuts.

A Camera

If you’re going on a road trip you need a good camera. I’m bringing my Go-Pro with me when we go shopping because it’s so light and compact. It’s also great for capturing video as well. Then I’m going to bring my DSLR camera for our trip to Cades Cove and for the more scenic spots that were going to visit. The Smokies are gorgeous, and I really hope to get some good footage.
