It’s been a minute since I’ve done a tag. And I love tags. Especially when they’re as fun as this one is. So, let’s get to the 90’s Cartoon Book Tag. I found this tag over at The Book Nut. I’ve linked hers below so check it out.
90’s Cartoon Book Tag – The Book Nut: A Book Lover’s Guide (booklovingnut.com)
RUGRATS
FIND A BOOK THAT IS A NOSTALGIC READ.
Any of the Goosebumps books are a nostalgic for me. They are the reason I’m obsessed with horror and paranormal stories to this day. I have the best time rereading them every Halloween.
DOUG
FIND A BOOK ABOUT GROWING UP.
I know this tag is leaning more a coming-of-age fiction story, but I don’t read that many of them anymore. So, the first thing I thought of was I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. This is the most brutally honest, and yet beautifully written, memoir I’ve ever read. It will shake your thoughts on the world up and make you question everything, but it’s also endearing and humorous. You’ll feel all of the emotions with this one.
JOHNNY BRAVO
FIND A BOOK WHOSE MAIN CHARACTER YOU DON’T LIKE.
I did NOT like the main character in The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires at all. I know this book is meant to be satirical to some extent, but still. This lady was ditzy and naive, and it drove me crazy. I have to connect to the character even just a little bit to enjoy the story. There are also two more characters that I disliked in books that I dnfed this month, but I’ll tell you more about them in my wrap up.
SOUTH PARK
FIND A BOOK WITH QUESTIONABLE HUMOR.
Wicked Appetite had questionable humor, because I was questioning if it was humor to start with. It was campy to the point of annoying. Was not a fan at all.
POWERPUFF GIRLS
FIND A BOOK WITH A KICK-BUTT FEMALE LEAD.
Hidden Figures has several kick-butt female leads. They were the brains behind the space program and the country would not be where we are today without their contributions. It’s a shame that it took this long to recognize their work. If you haven’t read this book you need to.
ROCKET POWER
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORT-CENTERED BOOK SCENE?
Ghost won by default because I haven’t read many sport-centered books. But even if I did it would still be my first choice. Jason Reynolds does a great job at writing a story that will hit you right in the center of your heart, but you might just learn something from it. I think he’s a fantastic YA author who tells stories that kids need to hear.
That’s the 90’s Cartoon Book Tag. If you want to play, I tag you. But don’t forget to tag me because I’d love to see your answers.
