I look forward to Riley Sager’s new release every summer and tomorrow Middle of the Night releases. So, I thought we’d take a minute and celebrate a new book from my favorite author by ranking his other books from my favorite to least favorite. I say least favorite but honestly, I’ve loved all of his books, and I don’t think I’ve rated one under three stars, so keep that in mind. Let’s rank Riley Sager’s books.
1. The Last Time I Lied

The Last Time I Lied was the first Riley Sager book I ever read, and I knew I was hooked from there. I know it’s a controversial choice but it’s still my favorite.
2. Final Girls

Final Girls was the second book I tried by Sager, and I loved it almost as much as I loved The Last Time I Lied.
3. The Only One Left

The Only One Left was released last year, and the shocking ending was the very reason I fell in love with Riley Sager’s work to begin with.
4. The House Across the Lake

The House Across the Lake was a perfect summertime thriller with a little bit of a paranormal twist. I really enjoyed it.
5. Survive the Night

Survive the Night was a fun nostalgic read but I didn’t connect with the main character as well as I normally do. But again, I still liked it.
6. Home Before Dark

I expected Home Before Dark to be one of my top favorites, and I did have a good time with it. But I guessed the twist very early on and that took me out of the story just a bit. I love Riley Sager because he normally catches me off guard, but I didn’t get that from this one.
7. Lock Every Door

I didn’t dislike Lock Every Door, but it’s the one I rated the lowest of all his books. I rated it three stars. But I just didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the rest of them. It still had a shocking twist, but it just wasn’t my favorite.
So that’s how I rank Riley Sager’s books. I’m really excited to get my hands on Middle of the Night to see my thoughts on it. So, what about you? Are you a Sager fan? How would you rank these?
