Back in 2023, I started my Reading My Way to a Healthier Me series. I stuck with it for a little but then life got busy. I was sticking with my goals for the most part until I got pregnant and everything changed. Now that I’ve had my baby it’s time to get back to my goals. So, here’s the plan.
My Goals
- Eat Healthier. I stuck to this during the pregnancy for the most part. But I strayed away during maternity leave because everything tasted like dirt due to some health issues I had. Now that I have that sorted out, I want to go back to including more fruits and vegetables into my diet. I can really tell a difference when I eat right.
- Exercise. Before I got pregnant, I would use a weighted hoop for at least thirty minutes a day and I was seeing some results. I want to start back but I’m going to have to build up to that. I’m having to remind myself that I’ve only been out of casts for about three months, and I was heavily pregnant then, so I’m just not in the shape that I was last year.
- Drink More Water. This one’s an easily explained goal but I fear it’s going to be harder than the rest of them. I want to drink more water than anything else. I have a real soft drink and coffee habit. I need to get that back under control.
Reading Plans
I also want to get back into listening to audiobooks. I think it’s a great way to supplement my reading. I generally like to listen to non-fiction audiobooks so it’s also a great way to explore new genres.
Right now, though, I’m starting The Dutch House by Anne Patchett. I’ve wanted to read this for a while, but I never made the time for it. I’m interested to see where it goes.
So those are my health and reading plans for this month. What about you? Have you made any health goals for this year?
