I don’t know about you, but I love a morning routine video. I don’t know what it is about them that’s so addictive. So, I wanted to see if that format translates to a blog post. So, let’s go over my bookish morning routine.
Keep in mind I have a four-month-old and a house to keep up, so I’ve not included everything that I do in a morning. These are just the fun bookish things that I sneak in to enjoy my day off.
Watch Youtube

Usually, I wake up and catch up on YouTube videos while I feed my baby and get her ready for the day. I’ve been watching Talking Story a lot and they’ve strongly influenced my tbr lately.
Read

After, I get my baby settled in for her first nap I like to do a little reading in bed. It was raining while I read, and the cozy vibes were unreal. I like to put on a load of laundry to feel a little productive while I’m reading and then they’ll be ready to dry when I finish up. I read about 100 pages in Gardens of the Moon and then I got hungry.
Breakfast

Cj was at work this morning, so I made pancakes and sausage for one. I just split my normal pancake recipe in half, and it made two perfect pancakes. They’re one of my comfort foods and I usually reserve them for my day off. It makes it feel extra special.
Bible Study

After breakfast, I cleaned up the kitchen and then I settle in to do my Bible study. I’m doing a read the Bible in a year plan and I’ve really been enjoying it. I also try to write a daily Bible verse in my planner. Here’s my verse of the day:
Then He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has restored you to health. Go in peace and be healed from your suffering.” -Mark 5:34
Pictures/Edit

With all that done it was time to do some actual work. I had to take some pictures for posts coming up. I get a lot of questions about what camera I use so I thought I’d answer that here. I use a Nikon D3500 with the 18:55 mm kit lens for almost every picture. Nothing too fancy.

Then I edit on my Macbook using the Darkroom app. I just use the free version. It does everything that I need it to do.
Read

And then to wrap up my morning I decided to do a bit more reading. My copy of Howling Dark had just been delivered, and I couldn’t wait to dive in. I put Gardens of the Moon on the backburner, but now about a week later I’m missing that world. It might be time to go back to it.
And that’s it for my Bookish morning routine. I spent the rest of the day folding laundry and then I had a nice supper with my husband and went to bed relatively early. That’s my version of a successful day off.
