Simple Joys

Happy Monday, everyone. It’s been a weird reading week. Meaning I haven’t read hardly anything at all, so I don’t have much to chat about. I will say I’ve started Jade City and, so far, I’m really enjoying it. I’m so afraid of jinxing that though because I’ve said that about several other books that I’ve dnfed lately. But hopefully, I will continue to have fun because your girl needs a reading win. Anyhow since I have nothing bookish to talk about, I thought I’d share a little sneak preview of a new project that I’ve been working on lately. It’s sort of just a passion project, but I’m having fun, nonetheless. I’ll tell you more about it later. Today I just want to focus on the simple joys in life.

Simple Joys

I can’t begin to describe the absolute joy that this strawberry bloom (and even a few small strawberries) brings me. I’ve been in a garden my entire life and I love it. Last year, when I was five months pregnant, I fell and broke my left leg and my right ankle putting me on bed rest for several months right in the middle of gardening season.

So I sat and watched the garden I worked so hard on grow up. And honestly that broke my heart. This was easily one of the hardest times of my life but I’m blessed with AMAZING friends and family that helped us out so much. So I want to take a second to thank the people in my life. I love you guys more than you know

I also want to take a second to thank my God that pulled me through this. And He literally pulled me. But as Ecclesiastes 3:1-5 says, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill; and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.”

So I’ve had my time to heal and now I’m in my time to dance. And I guess I’m saying all of this to say that if you’re going through a hard time right now things will get better. I encourage you to grab your Bible and get into the word because that has been one of the greatest blessings to my heart. And I will never take the simple joy that a strawberry bloom can bring for granted again.

So that’s it from me for today. I hope you guys have an awesome week and happy reading! And I also hope you take the time to think about the simple joys that you have today. If you want to share any of them, drop them in the comments. It’s a Monday we need all the joy we can get!
