Summer Book Tag

I know it’s technically spring but it’s summer here in Alabama. Let’s kick off the weekend with the Summer Book Tag.

I found this tag over at For the Love of Books so be sure to check out her post.

ICED TEA: A Refreshing Book

How to Survive Camping was a refreshing read. It was witty and humorous with just a touch of horror. It really took me back to my Goosebumps days.

COTTON CANDY: A Fluffy Book

I don’t read a ton of fluffy books, but The Dream Harbor series is always a go to when I want something a little lighter.

SUNGLASSES: A Dark Book

Winter of the World is one of the darker books that I’ve read. It deals with a lot of heavy topics that happened in real life. Fantasy is one thing but to know that people actually lived through these events it adds another layer of sadness.

PICNIC ON A RAINY DAY: A Sad Book

I wouldn’t necessarily consider Wind and Truth a sad book, but there was one specific moment that tore my heart out.

SAND: An Irritating Book

Silent Companions irritated me. I had such high hopes for this one and it ultimately let me down.

SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER: A Favorite Book To Movie Adaptation

The Hobbit will always be the best movie adaptation in my opinion.

DROPPED ICE CREAM: A Book That Did Not Meet Expectations

The Strength of the Few really dropped the ice cream. I loved, loved, loved The Will of Many and had such high hopes for this one. It was ambitious, but I didn’t enjoy it.

PALM TREE: A Book That Stands Taller Than the Rest

I’m taking this one literally. Edge of Eternity absolutely stands taller than the rest. It’s a thick boy. I’m going to have to wear wrist braces to read this one.

BONFIRE: A Heartwarming Book

The Third Gilmore Girl was absolutely the most heartwarming read I’ve read in a while. It was funny and poignant all at the same time.

FIREWORKS: A Book That Exploded Into My Life

The Butcher’s Daughter exploded into my life. It was an impulse read from Instagram that sent me down a rabbit hole of Victorian era thrillers.

So that’s the Summer Book Tag. If you want to play along, I tag you.
