Outlander has reignited my love of historical fiction. And if you’ve been here long enough you know I’m a mood reader. So now I want all things historical fiction. Here are a few that are catching my attention.
The Mad Wife

The Mad Wife is giving The Stepford Wife vibes, and I’m all about it. Lulu Mayfield has built the perfect life for her husband and family, but after the birth of her second child, her carefully curated life begins to unravel. When a new neighbor moves in Lulu suspects something dark is going on next door. The more she uncovers the more her family begins to question her sanity. And so does she.
Atmosphere

Next up, I want to read Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reed. I loved Daisy Jones and the Six so I’m excited to pick this one up. I’m especially excited because it’s set during the Space Race. Professor of Astronomy, Joan, is content with her life. Or so she thought. After she saw an advertisement from Nasa searching for women scientist to join a new space shuttle mission she wants to see the stars.
Pillars of the Earth

It’s bold to put a Ken Follett book on this list because I still have a huge Ken Follett series hanging over my head. Hopefully, I’ll finish that up soon. But Pillars of the Earth keeps catching my attention because it’s set in a time period that I don’t read from much. And I think that would shake me out of my reading rut. Set in 12th century England it follows a devout monk on a quest to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has ever known.
So those are the historical fiction books that I want to read soon. And if you have any suggestions, drop them in the comments.
