It’s been a little while since I’ve done a book haul. I figured it was about time, so let’s get into my first book haul of the year. I bought a few of these, but I also was gifted with several at Christmas. I’m so blessed to have a family that supports my hobbies. Let’s get to it.
The Goldfinch

I loved The Secret History by Donna Tartt, so I wanted to give The Goldfinch a try. This month is my birthday month so I chose this as my Book of the Month birthday gift. I don’t know a ton about it, but I have high hopes for it.
Slewfoot

Slewfoot has been on my radar for a while. I loved the synopsis and the art as well. Some of the pages of this book are absolutely stunning. My husband gave me this for Christmas. I was so excited to get it.
Lost Gods

He also included another of Brom’s novels, Lost Gods. I don’t know a lot about this, but the artwork is stunning as well. It looks really interesting, so I can’t wait to give it a try.
Cytonic

Yet another gift from my husband. He knows me so well. I can’t believe I haven’t read Cytonic yet. It’s book three in the Skyward series and I have such high hopes for it. I still have to listen to the two audiobooks before I get to this, but I imagine that will be soon. I’m ready to return to this world.
Reckless Girls

Reckless Girls is my January Book of the Month pick. It’s the same author that wrote The Wife Upstairs, which I really enjoyed. I figured I would give this one a try too. The only thing is the setting doesn’t excite me as much as the setting in The Wife Upstairs, but I’m still going to give it a go. I really did enjoy the author’s writing style.
The Broken Earth Trilogy

My brother-in-law gave me the boxed edition of The Broken Earth trilogy for Christmas and I actually squealed when I opened this. I’ve wanted to read this series for a while, but I keep putting it off. I’m so happy to finally have it on my shelf. Now I have no excuse not to pick it up.
If We Were Villains

After reading The Secret History, I knew I wanted more dark academia. I’ve heard a lot of people say that If We Were Villains is pretty similar so I picked it up. I saw it on PangoBooks (follow me @wildwoodreads) and I just couldn’t pass up that deal.
So that’s my first book haul of 2022. I’m starting the year out with a lot of great books. Now I think I need to go on a book buying ban to keep my tbr in check, hahaha.
Have you bought anything exciting lately?
Hey! Quick question, are you a Potter head? Like i call myself one, i actually dreamt my dad somehow got the wand the Potter more quiz said, but it turned out to be the wrong one¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I know the story and everything, but suprisingly……..
I HAVEN’T READ OR SEEN ANY OF THE MOVIES OR BOOKS!!!
Just alive on clips, summaries and fanfiction till now¯\_༼ ಥ ‿ ಥ ༽_/¯🤦🏻♀️😝
I’ve read the book and I did really enjoy them! I’m not quite as obsessed as my friends but I love the fandom.
That’s a lovely haul to start the year. Enjoy The Broken Earth Trilogy. It’s excellent.
I can’t wait to get to it! I’m so excited!
