Such Sharp Teeth is giving me some mixed feelings. I picked it up because I absolutely loved Cackle by the same author. While I enjoyed parts of Such Sharp Teeth it just missed a few things for me. So, let’s get to it.
When Rory Morris moves back to her hometown she’s not thrilled. The only reason she came back is because her pregnant twin, Scarlett, needs her. But after a night out Rory hits an animal with her car. When she gets out to investigate the damage an animal attacks her. Miraculously, she survives but her life will never be the same.
My Thoughts on Such Sharp Teeth
If I’m being honest, Such Sharp Teeth disappointed me just a little bit. I was hoping the story would focus more on the werewolf aspect of things, but it didn’t. Granted, the first few pages were terrifying, but that was about it.
The werewolf issue was merely in the background. Basically, our main character is focused more on family drama and potential boyfriend drama. The fact that Rory has turned into a mythical monster is just a mild inconvenience. She only transforms three times in the entire book.
Now, with all that being said, I did enjoy Such Sharp Teeth. It was a fun, quick read. And I like the main character even though she was all over the place. But don’t go into it thinking that there will be a lot of terrifying werewolf content because that’s not what this book is.
My Rating: 3/5
