A Celebratory Book Haul

After four weeks of bedrest due to a broken ankle and leg (see this post) I was finally cleared to walk. I have a boot on one leg and an ankle brace on the other so my mobility is still limited but it’s better than no mobility at all. After my doctor’s appointment yesterday I decided to treat myself to a celebratory book haul. Here’s what I got.

The September House

The September House has caught my eye a few times and I finally bought it. It was a bit of an impulse purchase but after reading the first few pages I think it’s something I might really love. And it’s perfect for spooky season.

Interview with the Vampire

I’ve been into gothic reads recently and Interview with a Vampire is a quintessential Southern gothic. I think it’s time to finally give it a read.

Creepy Kitchen

One of my favorite ways to celebrate Halloween is to cook themed meals and snacks so I just had to pick up Creepy Kitchen. It was totally an impulse purchase but I look forward to using it. A lot of the recipes in here seem fairly easy so it would be a great cookbook for beginners.

So those are the books that I picked up in my celebratory book haul. I had two books on my list that I wanted to pick up that our store didn’t have, so I ordered them. I’ll do another little book haul when they get here because they will be perfect for spooky season as well.

  1. So great that you’ve gotten back some mobility — definitely a cause for celebration, especially with books! Hope you enjoy these. The only one I’ve read is Interview with the Vampire, which I loved (way back when) and want to reread.
