A Day Out in Rome, Georgia

A couple of weekends back Cj actually had an off day, so we ventured to Rome, Georgia. Here’s what we got up to.

Yard Sale

We didn’t make it out of Centre before we spent money. We saw a yard sale with a bunch of Halloween things. I’m trying to limit my decoration purchases this year, but I had to grab a couple of things.

Look how cute this Home Interiors wax warmer is. And the best part is I only paid $10.00 for it.

I also saw these mini pumpkin shaped tart pans. I don’t know why I thought I needed them but for a dollar I was sold. Now I have an excuse to make a fun fall treat.

River Hill Books

The main reason we wanted to go to Rome is because this new independent book shop opened and I had to go. It’s going to be a game changer to have an indie shop within an hour of my house.

The name of the store is River Hill Books, and it was super nice. They had a great selection of books and bookish goodies. I’ll definitely be going back. Check back later in the week. I’ll be posting a haul of the goodies I bought.

Olea Olive Oil

Right next door to the bookstore was an olive oil and wine store. We popped in for a bit. I ended up bringing home a dill and lemon olive oil, black truffle salt, and chocolate chunk biscotti.

Michael’s

Now remember earlier, when I said that I was limiting my Halloween decoration purchases? Well, that didn’t apply to Michael’s apparently.

I couldn’t leave this Edgar Allan Poe bust behind. It was too perfect for my book display.

And I blame Cj for this purchase. But honestly, it’s probably my favorite Halloween piece of all. I want to start a Halloween village, and a haunted bookstore is the perfect place to start.

Barnes and Noble

It’s not a trip to Rome without a trip to Barnes and Noble. They were having a massive sale so I’m glad we stopped in. I ended up with some fun things that I’ll include in my haul.

I didn’t buy this pillow, but I thought it was cute.

And I mostly took this picture so I could remember to do a little research on Dracula’s Child. Has anyone read it? Is it any good?

Bella Roma

We had lunch at a local Italian restaurant called Bella Roma. I was starving and forgot to take pictures. I got the salmon and asparagus, and it was absolutely delicious.

Starbucks

Lastly, we ended the day with my first pumpkin spice latte of the season.

So that was our day out in Rome, Georgia. It was the perfect start to the fall season. Hopefully, there will be many more fun trips to come.

      1. Yeah, once I get into this new house I’ve told the boyfriend things have got to calm down so we can just enjoy life. We’re been overworking ourselves for the past few months.

      2. Yeah, and we’re moving a lot closer to our best friends so we plan on a lot more hangouts moving forward. Oh, and I’m cat sitting in about a week so I get to enjoy a change of scenery before the move!
