An Early Fall Book Haul

A couple of weeks ago we went to Rome, and I did some shopping. I bought a lot of things, gadgets, and gizmos (see that in this post). I also bought a lot of books. Let’s do an early fall book haul.

We went to a new independent bookstore, and I’m obsessed. I hope to go back many times. We also made an obligatory stop into Barnes and Noble because they were doing double points day and I had to take advantage of that.

River Hill Books

Be Ready When the Luck Happens

I have loved Ina Garten since I was young. Her no fuss recipes combined with gourmet ingredients have always piqued my interest. So, when I saw that she was releasing a memoir I knew I wanted it. I put a hold on it at my library, but the waitlist is years long. When I walked in and saw Be Ready When the Luck Happens, I decided to go ahead and get it.

The Road to Noeware

Honestly, I have no clue what The Road to Noewhere is about, but it was in the horror sectioned and written by a local author. I’ve read some of the comments and it sounds like a Southern soap opera, and I’m intrigued. I can’t wait to give it a read.

B Is for Boo

Look at this. How could I not pick it up for my baby. This is her first Halloween, and I think she’ll love it. And I love it because look how cute and vintage it looks. So excited to read B is for Boo.

Barnes and Noble

Bat Eater and Other Name for Cora Zeng

I’m rounding up my tbr for Halloween and Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng was one of the books that I don’t have. I’ve heard so many good things about it. It’s set around the Hungry Ghost Festival and while I know that takes place in the spring, I still think it might be a good Halloween read. I also think this is going to be one of those horror books that make you think. I have high hopes for it.

101 Horror Books to Read Before You’re Murdered

I absolutely didn’t need 101 Horror Books to Read Before You’re Murdered. But I really wanted it. It’s a quick reference guide to modern horror written by Sadie Hartman (Mother Horror on Insta). I just think this is going to be a fun book to add to my collection. I might try to read them all but honestly, I might be too much of a mood reader for that. We’ll see.

Reading Journal

Lastly, I picked up this really cool reading tracker. I was going to start it right now, but I think I’ve decided to wait for the first of the year. I can’t wait to see how it works out.

So that’s my early fall book haul. Have you read any of these?

  1. Yes, all the spooky things! I’m in full Halloween mode at least with reading. Still waiting on this darn move to the new house in early October so I can rush Halloween decorations.
