Books on My Christmas List

It’s that time of year to start making Christmas wishlists. I’m a list maker by heart. It’s how I function day-to-day. So making my Christmas wishlist is always so much fun. Here are a few books that I’ve added to my bookish wishlist this year.

Slewfoot

Slewfoot|Brom

To be honest, the cover of Slewfoot is what caught my attention, but then I read the synopsis. Now I need it in my life. It is a novel, but it also combines the art of the author, Brom. I must confess I have spent a ton of time on his Instagram since discovering his artwork. His other book Krampus is an honorary mention on my Christmas wishlist as well.

Leviathan Wakes

Leviathan Wakes|James S. A. Corey

I’ve been wanting to read more sci-fi, and Leviathan Wakes keeps catching my attention. I’ve heard really good things about it and decided I wanted to give it a try. I want to break out of my comfort zone in the new year.

Here are a few sci-fi books I want to try also.

Cytonic

Cytonic|Brandon Sanderson

Cytonic is book three in the Skyward series. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Truth be told, I would have probably already bought it, but I’m trying not to buy too many books this month. I can’t wait to continue on with this series.

Golden Son

Golden Son|Pierce Brown

If I’m being honest, I’m not sure that I’m going to like Golden Son. It is book two in the Red Rising Trilogy. I wasn’t a huge fan of Red Rising, but so many people that I trust say that Golden Son is where the series really picks up. I want to give it another shot.

The Name of the Wind

The Name of the Wind|Patrick Rothfuss

I’ve wanted to read The Name of the Wind for a long time, but there is not anticipated release date for the next book in the series. And I’m not sure I’m prepared to have another Game of Thrones situation. But I really do want to read it. I feel like I’m missing out.

Prince of Thorns

Prince of Thorns|Mark Lawrence

I really want to start a new grimdark fantasy series and I’ve heard Prince of Thorns is the one to beat. Again, I have been missing the Game of Thrones world, so maybe this will fill in the grimdark hole that it left.

The Lies of Locke Lamora

The Lies of Locke Lamora|Scott Lynch

Merphy Napier sings the praises of The Lies of Locke Lamora. I’m hoping to finish the Mistborn series this month and I feel like I’m going to miss it. This one gives me some of the same vibes. It’s a heist story with a found family and I’m here for it. I definitely want to check it out.

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell

Jonathan Strange & MR Norrell|Susanna Clarke

Frankly, I can’t tell you why I want Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. I’ve heard about it, but I don’t really know what it’s about. But I was scrolling through Pangobooks and I saw a copy of it and thought I need that. Unfortunately, I didn’t buy it then and it sold when I went back to get it. So, I don’t know why I need it, but I do.

That’s my bookish wishlist. Someone e-mail this list to my husband lol. Seriously, though, what’s on your bookish wishlist?
