Let’s talk about popular books that I don’t plan to buy. An anti-book haul if you will. These used to be super popular on Booktube and we need to petition to bring them back. Let’s get to it.
Onyx Storm
When I read Fourth Wing, I loved it because it felt so familiar. It felt like the books I read as a teenager that made me fall in love with reading to start with. However, Iron Flame felt way too familiar. It felt like I had read that story before, and nothing really caught me by surprise. So, I just don’t have a desire to read Onyx Storm.
Bloody Rose
I just finished Kings of the Wyld, and I really liked it. I was excited to find out that it had a sequel until I found out that the sequel doesn’t even follow the characters that I loved. It follows Rose, Gabe’s daughter, who was in the last book for maybe five pages. I have no interest in her storyline or Bloody Rose because I didn’t feel an attachment to her character.
Lightfall
Lastly, we have Lightfall. In another life this would have absolutely been something I would have loved to read. But right now, I think I’m actually tired of vampire stories. That’s not Lightfall’s fault. That’s my fault. But either way I don’t think I will be giving this a read any time soon.

I loved Onyx Storm but I know that there are quite a few people who didn’t. I thought that it was better than Iron Flame as the dragons played a larger part and the romance was less irritating.
Well darn. Now I might have to check it out because I did love the dragons.
Well, I’m not planning to read Onyx Storm either, and nothing can change my mind! I read Fourth Wing in a big rush, but really disliked some elements, and didn’t enjoy Iron Flame or feel a need to continue past that one.
I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one!
